Was with my mom in Cambridge when she suddenly collapsed, twice and we had to call a squad on her. The EMTs finally got a blood pressure reading and she was around 60/30. When we got into the ER, she was there for 45 minutes before anyone even tried to give her an iv to help bring her fluids and blood pressure back up. Then the doctor was asking her questions and turning away to have a personal conversation with one of the nurses while she was trying to reply. Literally he turned his back on her while she was explaining her symptoms and what had happened. We waited from 1:30 to 7:30 to even hear anything and that was they were going to admit her. Now this is her second night here and I've never seen or heard of doctors being so blatantly disinterested in their patients. Just found out her urinalysis came back with bacterial infection and the doctor refused to give her an antibiotic to treat it even though she's a diabetic. The nurses who come take her vitals are generally nice, but I sincerely think all of the doctors we've been in touch with are bordering on incompetence. I've never missed Genesis so badly, there they actually listen and take care of you. We can't wait for her to get out of Southeastern Med.
Took my girl friend in for swollen foot found out blood clot! Was admitted found out clot in lung , next day found out clot in heart !!! Cardioligest had to reschedule from seeing her 2× ! Very unprofessional in my opinion!!! NO information!!
Had to call 911 for my 18 mo old son who suddenly started screaming and having breathing difficulty, stopped breathing on me completely. After on the phone with 911 dispatch my son went completely lethargic and was zoned out with extremely dilated eyes and doubled heart rate. Wasn't sure if he was going to make it till the ambulance got to the hospital. Once at the hospital he started to come out of this spell a little bit and was able to see and talk. The doctor xray him for pneumonia and sent him home said he was fine. Told me it was probably the orajel I had given him that made his throat numb?? That wouldn't raise his heart rate and make him lethargic and to not be able to see. WHATEVER SEORMC !! They should have checked his blood in this time of opioid epidemic whose to say I wasn't a drug addiction and he had gotten into something and overdosed, or any number of things. (It was only after getting home that night that I found hand sanatizer out and open. And I believe he drank it and was having alcohol poisoning) which if they would have tested his blood they would have seen. But they didn't know, had no idea what to tell me or do. So they said he was fine and sent me home.
I have had terrible experiences everytime something big has happened. The most recent being my 18 month old coming in to the er by ambulance. He had his tongue swollen, irritated stomach, and ended up not breathing for a brief period of time, and lost vision for temperarily. When we got to the er they checked his heartbeat and listened to his lungs, dud xray to check for pneumonia and when that came back clear sent us home. I mean really why would we call an ambulance for pneumonia?? The kid had something going on. No blood work was done to check for toxins. Asked to gave more done was told he was fine and if it happened again just come back. Takes ambulance 25 mins just to get to me. Hate this hospital!!!!!
I had surgery there . And the staff are very nice & amazing service. Thank y'all so much. And they are so attentive to the patients.
